Caitlyn Jenner believes she can fly — because her ID now matches her identity

Caitlyn Jenner’s got this award-acceptance speech down: The line about navigating the stairs to the stage in high heels, the mention of that Diane Sawyer interview, the acknowledgment of the transgender community and how much she has to learn.

But this time she shared a new personal milestone.

“I gotta tell you a story quickly,” Jenner said while accepting the Transgender Champion honor at the 25th Glamour Women of the Year Awards on Monday night in New York City. “I haven’t been on the airlines in over a year because I didn’t have authentic I.D. And finally last week, I got my driver’s license. Picture and gender marker ‘F.’”

The 66-year-old former Olympic decathlete and reality star got the legal OK to have her identification match her identity back in September.

“So it’s always the little things in life that really you notice. And I’m sitting on the plane, and for the first time reading Glamour magazine and not having to fold the cover over so nobody could see what actually I was reading. And I had that thing open beautifully and just reading through Glamour magazine was absolutely great.”

Did we mention Glamour sponsored the event? Yeah, that.

“Transparent” and “Growing Pains” actress Judith Light presented the honor to the “I Am Cait” star at Carnegie Hall. Also recognized during the ceremony were Victoria Beckham (named the Fashion Force), ballet dancer Misty Copeland (the Showstopper), billionaire Theranos Chief Executive Elizabeth Holmes (the Entrepreneur), Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards (the Health Advocate), actress Reese Witherspoon (the Hollywood Hero), the women who survived a deadly shooting in Charleston, S.C. (the Peacemakers), and the U.S. women’s national soccer team (Game Changers).
