People also confirmed the news with their source reporting, “Both Anne and Adam seem very excited about the baby.”

Motherhood has been on Hathaway’s mind for some time, telling the Telegraph in December 2012, “I’ve wanted to be a mom since I was 16. I’m 30 and I want to have a family of a certain size,” before adding that she’d like to have as many children she could afford, “Not just financially but in terms of time.”

The actress posted an Instagram photo in January of herself in a red bikini, proudly displaying her growing baby belly, with the caption, “I figure if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world it should be an image that makes me happy (and one that was taken with my consent. And with a filter.”

The child is the first for the pair, who have been together for eight years and married in 2012.
