Charlize-Theron-Sean-Penn-engaged rumor becomes no-they’re-not rumor
Sometimes a ring is just a ring, no matter what finger it’s on. That according to a source who says Charlize Theron, and not Sean Penn, bought a bauble that sparked rumors about the couple being engaged.
The actress bought the Anita Ko ring, which ballparks around $5,000, for herself, a source told Us Weekly on Friday.
Us Weekly, of course, was the same outlet that on Monday had the couple eyeing a summer wedding and planning to adopt a child together.
The engagement rumors picked up steam after Theron was photographed Wednesday at Los Angeles International Airport, using a jacket to hide her face from paparazzi and in the process allowing them to see a ring on her left hand, which she was using to hold up the coat.
Penn, 51, and Theron, 38, who won their acting Oscars in the same year, 2004, have reportedly been friends for years. In January at a fundraiser for his Haiti charity, Penn made their couple status public.
