Kaley Cuoco opens up about divorce: ‘It’s been rough’

What a difference 2½ years makes: Kaley Cuoco returned to “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” — the same haunt that once hosted her tying the “not” with ex Ryan Sweeting — and opened up about her abrupt split from the tennis player.

“I’m getting divorced,” explained “The Big Bang Theory” star, who appeared on the talk show Tuesday to plug her geeky sitcom’s upcoming 200th episode.

“You know, last year was very bizarre and we all go through really weird ups and downs. I’m a little more seen — everybody goes through that stuff — I already feel like 2016 is going to be a much better year than 2015.”

The 30-year-old’s marriage to Sweeting was “not that long,” the actress said. They got engaged after only a month of dating, got married a few months later on New Year’s Eve 2013, then announced their split in September 2015. Though she didn’t explain why they called it quits — she cited irreconcilable differences in divorce docs — she seemed happy to be moving on from the union.

“It’s been rough, but things are going good. I’m much, much better now. I’m in a much better place than I was,” she said.

The actress had been smitten with her man during her November 2013 appearance on the talk show, then had her wedding date tattooed on her back. That indelible mark is now covered up with a massive moth design.

“The tattoo was a mistake. Had to cover it. [The numbers] were big so I had to cover it with wings,” she told DeGeneres, who seemed puzzled by the ink’s meaning.

“The significance is it was big enough to cover the numbers. The wings, big wings. Silence, quiet, on a wall. They’re stationary. It’s just what I picked out when I was there,” she said, embarrassed.

“I pictured a moth because a moth is drawn to the light all the time,” DeGeneres noted.

“That too!” Cuoco exclaimed. “That’s exactly what I was thinking!”

Meanwhile, TV’s highest-paid actress has recently been linked to country star Sam Hunt; the two were spotted leaving Hyde nightclub in Hollywood after the Grammy Awards this month. However, Cuoco recently shut down the dating rumors.

“Really not,” she told Extra when asked if they were dating. “Really — not.”

Despite what you may have seen in the tabloids, the equestrian said she leads a pretty boring life.

“It’s the same thing every day. I go to the same yoga class.... If I walked out of the stable with my horse, they would say I’m marrying my horse!” she said.
