James Woods tweeted that he was a little sore and stiff Wednesday — which ordinarily wouldn't be news, but is actually remarkable, because on Monday he was involved in a seven-car pileup in Colorado that left him "so happy to be alive."

The "Ray Donovan" actor, 68, has been tweeting thankfully about the accident since it happened, providing a lot of details initially, including the fact that he'd gotten a "little concussion." By Tuesday, Woods — Oscar-nominated for "Ghosts of Mississippi" and "Salvador" — was back on the road.

During the crash his airbags didn't deploy, he tweeted, likely because he was sliding backwards across the ice when his car hit the guardrail. "I was very surprised they didn't deploy," he said.

He credited his winter tires, four-wheel drive and the fact that he'd "religiously" inspected and rotated those tires with keeping him safe. Read on for his blow-by-blow account of the crash.

Woods' gratitude was evident as he thanked well-wishers online and the first responders from the crash site, and later posted a shot of the tow-truck driver who helped save his bacon.

He was the most humble person I’ve met," tow-truck driver Victor Hernandez told the Glenwood Springs Post Independent on Tuesday, calling the actor "so down to earth."
