Lena Dunham set to get ‘kinky’ as ‘Scandal’ guest star

Lena Dunham is getting kinky on the set of “Scandal” and it seems to be written into her job description.

The “Girls” creator, who previously said that her “life’s great passion” was to appear on Shonda Rhimes’ addictive ABC drama, is having it realized with an appearance in the March 19 episode titled “It’s Good to Be Kink.”

“Finally at liberty to reveal this pic of me on the #scandal set as ‘Kinky Sue’ with my true [love] @kerrywashington,” 28-year-old Dunham wrote Thursday on Instagram, posting a snapshot of herself in character kissing Kerry Washington, who plays D.C. fixer Olivia Pope.

“I want to be like, a senator who did something wrong,” Dunham previously said on Grantland’s B.S. Report. “Playing a really evil character would be really fun.”

In the upcoming episode, a woman -- presumably Sue -- threatens to expose sex secrets of some of the capital’s most elite politicians, and Olivia is hired to defuse the situation.

ABC released a few photos of the highly shrouded show showing Dunham wearing a questionable brown wig and engaging with Olivia and Quinn (Katie Lowes) in the gladiator offices.

Incidentally, this won’t be Dunham’s first foray into ShondaLand. In March 2014, the author appeared in a “Scandal” sketch on “SNL” in which she played Pope & Associates’ newest recruit -- a gladiator who asked way too many realistic questions.

Earlier this year, the outspoken wunderkind also hired the real-life Olivia Pope -- crisis manager Judy Smith -- to defuse allegations of child molestation sparked by her memoir “Not That Kind of Girl,” as well as controversy over other precarious sexual encounters detailed in the book.
