Katy Perry channels Marshawn Lynch at her Super Bowl news conference

The usually irrepressible Katy Perry ducked a query at her Super Bowl news conference about which guy she might be crushing on this coming weekend.

“I’m just here so I won’t get fined,” the 30-year-old star of Sunday’s halftime show.

With no basis in fact, we’ll take that to mean she’s stealth-crushing on the Seattle Seahawks’ Marshawn Lynch, 28, who on Tuesday gave that same answer for five minutes straight at another big-game news conference. The rebellious and sometimes reticent running back, of course, was famously nailed with a six-figure fine during the regular season for violating the NFL’s media policy by refusing to talk to reporters.

The “I Kissed a Girl” singer’s answer was clearly a deadpan joke -- and thankfully a much funnier one than her attempt to riff off Deflategate. (Watch the video. The “deflated” moment is painful.) But she told reporters that during her specially curated show, she’d be focusing on her strengths: humor and incredible joy.

“I think my songs are anthemic,” Perry said, “and I just hope at the end of the day, 100 million people are all smiling in unison.”

The singer seems to be up for the game. She revealed she’s pulling for the Seahawks to beat the New England Patriots, and earlier this week showed off a football-themed pedicure.

Also, it looks as if Lynch isn’t the only one who’ll be going into Beast Mode on Sunday: The “Dark Horse” singer promised she’d be featuring a lion and sharks -- plural -- during her halftime show.

See? She’s totally crushing on him. And why not. He likes Skittles, she likes Skittles ...
