Iggy Azalea has taken to Twitter to put out another fire that originated on the social media site.

Remember when she quit Twitter a while back? Yeah, we barely do either.

The “Fancy” songstress’ latest social media brouhaha revolves around the relative failure of “Pretty Girls,” her kitschy summer track with Britney Spears that debuted in May.

Over the weekend, Azalea returned to Twitter to engage with her fans but set off a firestorm when she responded to a follower talking about the song’s flopping. The polarizing rapper said it’s “difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and tv performances etc. unfortunately im just featured...”

The tweets were interpreted as a diss to Spears, and fans saw her assigning the blame to the pop star — making for yet another Azalea feud storyline. So, the Aussie-bred artist followed up that post with this: “my comment is factual, it applies to any song.”

After the blogosphere ran with the Iggy vs. Britney headlines, Azalea then said she wasn’t attacking anyone.

“all i said was: i wish we had promoted more but thats out of my control. shes a good friend,” she wrote, adding that she wasn’t surprised but was “really saddened that the media is trying to create a ‘beef’” between her and the Vegas headliner.

The vociferous 25-year-old then tweeted up a storm about her words being twisted and shut down any speculation about drama between her and Spears in a series of tweets.

“We remain friends and i haven’t said anything negative at all about her. Does wishing we had promoted a single more make me the bad guy?” she wrote, adding “i feel like the media wants women in music to get out and mud wrestle each other. As a woman i take great offense.

“Women in the media should be able to have a grown up and subjective opinion without it being anything more than that. its disappointing,” she continued. “No one is throwing ‘shade’ or ‘shots’ on either side of the table. The girl is my friend and i support her 100%. i feel like the press just wants to see girls be overtly sexual to one another, and have no real opinion other than ‘i love it!’ ”

The Grammy Award nominee said she’s over it and declared that “women in music are not the same as a teen drama,” insisting they are businesswomen and artists, “not mean girls.”

After that she took aim at freelance bloggers, saying you’re welcome for offering plenty of words for them to “twist and get paid off again.”

Meanwhile, Spears has not addressed the perceived feud.
