Jeff Goldblum’s son conveniently arrived just in time for Independence Day — the holiday and the sequel to his dad’s 1996 action flick.

The “Independence Day” star announced the birth of his first child on his newly launched Facebook page on Tuesday.

“We’re so excited to share the wonderful news of the birth of our son, Charlie Ocean Goldblum, born on the 4th of July. Independence Day,” the 62-year-old wrote, posting a photo of his expanding family.

A fitting time for a plug too, no?

Incidentally, the “Jurassic Park” alum’s first post on the social media site came last week and referred to another patriotic project: Goldblum shared a photo from the set of the alien invaders sequel, “Independence Day: Resurgence,” which also stars Liam Hemsworth of “The Hunger Games” and is slated for release in June.

“So there I was thinking about how I would save mankind when this guy photobombs me. Oh, why hello Facebook, nice to finally meet you. #‎IDR,” he wrote, captioning a photo of himself with Hemsworth hanging on the side of an aircraft.

Goldblum, who was previously wed to actresses Patricia Gaul and Geena Davis, married the aerialist at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles last November. The couple dated for more than three years before he popped the question in July 2014, just before they set off for Maui to celebrate the engagement.

The “Glee” guest star announced during a January appearance of “Late Show” that he and Livingston were expecting a son. At the time, Goldblum said they’d be naming their son Elliott Charlie.
