John Stamos has pleaded no contest to misdemeanor DUI, avoiding jail time but taking on probation and some drug counseling.

The “Grandfathered” actor, who was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Beverly Hills in June, will be on informal probation for three years and has been ordered to do an AA meeting a week for 52 weeks, plus two hours of drug counseling.

He didn’t appear in court, according to TMZ, which first reported the news, but was represented by attorney Blair Berk.

Stamos, who according to TMZ was under the influence of GHB at the time of his arrest, was hospitalized the night he was taken into custody and went into rehab shortly thereafter. The criminal complaint did not mention the substance involved, L.A. Now reported at the time.

After rehab, the former “ER” hunk, 52, was singing the praises of his time in rehab.

“I lost my mother last year, who was the love of my life -- obviously a difficult time for me,” he said on the “Today” show. “I had this moment, I had some time off and I had a decision to make. So I took advantage of the time and I made a choice, and I’m just so grateful that I did.”
