Philadelphia Eagles long snapper Jon Dorenbos is a two-time Pro Bowler but hardly a household name.

The second part might change this summer.

Dorenbos stunned all four judges – including the notoriously cynical Simon Cowell – with his magic tricks during an audition for “America’s Got Talent,” which aired Tuesday night on NBC.

He took up magic at age 12 after his father was convicted of murdering Dorenbos’ mother. When asked why he was auditioning even with a successful football career, the 13-year player joked that NFL stands for “Not For Long.”

If his performance on the show is any indication, Dorenbos has a long career in magic ahead of him when his playing days are over. Before starting his act, he asked judge Heidi Klum to choose a card, which he then folded into quarters, placed inside a paper clip and handed to judge Mel B. for safekeeping.

At the end of his act, which featured dazzling card tricks and witty banter, Dorenbos asked Cowell to think of any card. The judge chose three of clubs. The magician then had Mel B. hand over the original folded, paperclipped card and asked Cowell to open it.

It was the three of clubs. Cowell was dumbfounded and could only stare from Dorenbos to the card and back again.

“I don’t know how the hell you did that because I could see [the card] never moved,” Cowell finally said. “For someone who doesn’t do this professionally, it was so slick, so fast. Your dialogue is great. It’s not a trick, it’s magic. It was amazing.”

All four judges voted to advance Dorenbos into the next round.
