Watch Lou Williams beat the buzzer with half-court shot

Lou Williams hasn’t found a shot he doesn’t like, so it comes as no surprise he would be the one to launch a half-court heave.

Against the Chicago Bulls on Sunday night, he brought the Staples Center crowd to a roar at the end of the first quarter when he banked in a buzzer-beater a step inside the midcourt stripe.

Trailing the Bulls, 30-25, as the first quarter wound down, the Lakers ran a nice pick and roll with Brandon Ingram feeding Larry Nance Jr. for a big slam.

At the other end, Nance rebounded a miss and floated a pass out beyond the three-point arc between Williams and Jordan Clarkson. Williams caught the pass over his shoulder and took two long strides. As he started to rise for a shot, Bulls forward Bobby Portis crossed in front of him with his arm outstretched, forcing Williams to double clutch.

It just made the three points that much sweeter for Williams when the basketball bounced off the backboard and swished through the net to tie the score as the horn sounded.

Williams finished with a team-high 25 points on eight-of-14 shooting, but the Lakers eventually succumbed to the Bulls, 118-110. Jimmy Butler scored a season-high 40 points for Chicago while Williams scored the game’s top highlight.
