Clippers expected to re-sign Hedo Turkoglu this week
The Clippers are on the verge of re-signing free agent forward Hedo Turkoglu to a one-year, veteran’s minimum contract of $1.4 million, according to a league source not authorized to publicly discuss the deal because it was not official.
Turkoglu, 35, averaged 3.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 38 games last season after signing with the Clippers in January. He made 38.5% of his shots, including 44% from beyond the three-point arc.
The 14-year veteran has career averages of 11.5 points and 4.1 rebounds with six teams.
Turkoglu’s signing would bring the Clippers’ roster to 12 players, one below the league minimum.
The team already re-signed Glen Davis to a one-year contract and is believed to be interested in Ray Allen, Ekpe Udoh and/or Chris Douglas-Roberts for the final spots on their roster.
