Miami Heat star Chris Bosh failed components of his medical examination this week and was not cleared to take part in the team’s training camp, according to multiple media reports.

The Associated Press reports that Bosh did not pass his physical after being examined by multiple doctors this week. Evidence of blood clotting surfaced, the Miami Herald reports, and is thought to be related to one of the blood-clot episodes that ended each of Bosh’s previous two seasons prematurely.

In 2015, he was diagnosed with a blood clot in his leg that traveled to his lung; in February, he was diagnosed with one in his calf.

Bosh, who still has three years for $76 million remaining on his contract with Miami, said in an interview posted this week on LeBron James’ “Uninterrupted” digital platform that he was told by doctors in February he may never play in the NBA again.

“They told me that my season’s over. My career is probably over. This just happened, this is just how it is,” Bosh said. “I felt right away that I was written off.”

The Heat had expected their 11-time All Star to be cleared to start training camp with the team next week. Instead, his NBA future is again up in the air.
