Mike Tyson was sexually abused as a child by a complete stranger who abducted him off the street, the former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world said on SiriusXM earlier this week.

Speaking at length without interruption about such topics as his inner demons and the public’s perception of him, Tyson casually slipped in a horrifying sentence: “Guy bullied me, sexually abused me and stuff.”

Once they realized their guest had made what seems to be a first-time revelation, the hosts of “Opie Radio” started gathering more information about the alleged incident. Tyson told them he was 7 years old at the time and that the person who committed the crime was an “old man” who “snatched me from the street.”

The ex-boxer did not know his assailant and never saw him again. Tyson said he eventually was able to run away from his attacker but never told anyone, including the police, because it was “nobody’s business to know.”

But, he added, “I’m not embarrassed or ashamed of anything from that perspective.”

Asked if he changed in any way after that day, Tyson said, “I don’t know if I did or not.”
