LaDainian Tomlinson, Kurt Warner and Isaac Bruce are among finalists for Pro Football Hall of Fame

Former Rams standouts Kurt Warner and Isaac Bruce and San Diego Chargers legend LaDainian Tomlinson are among the 15 modern-era finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Tomlinson and Bruce are first-time finalists, while Warner made the list for the third time.

Also in the running are Jason Taylor, Brian Dawkins, Morten Andersen, Tony Boselli, Don Coryell, Terrell Davis, Alan Faneca, Joe Jacoby, Ty Law, John Lynch, Kevin Mawae and Terrell Owens.

Former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones are nominated in the contributors’ category. Former Seattle safety Kenny Easley already had been selected as a finalist by the veterans committee.

This year’s inductees will be elected on Feb. 4, the day before Super Bowl LI.

Tomlinson spent nine of his 11 NFL seasons with San Diego. He was league MVP in 2006, rushing for a record 28 touchdowns and a league-high 1,815 yards that season. He is second all-time with 145 rushing touchdowns and fifth all-time with 13,684 rushing yards.

Bruce broke into the league with the Los Angeles Rams in 1994, and moved with the organization the following year to St. Louis, where he remained before spending the final two years of his career with the San Francisco 49ers. He led the league in receiving yards in 1996 and is fourth overall with 15,208.

Warner, a two-time league MVP, was with the Rams from 1996 to 2003, guiding the team to two Super Bowl appearances and winning one. He also was quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals when they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLIII and has the three highest single-game passing yardage totals in Super Bowl history.
