Chris Paul says his right shoulder is fine; he will play tonight against Sacramento

It is not in Chris Paul’s makeup to complain about injuries.

Or when he’s hurt. Or when he’s sore. Or when his body aches.

So when he was asked Friday about having his right shoulder wrapped up after Wednesday night’s game at Staples Center and if there was a problem, Paul gave what has become his predicable answer of saying there wasn’t an issue.

“I’m all right,” Paul said, smiling. “I’m good.”

And, yes, Paul will play Friday night when the Clippers face the Sacramento Kings at Golden 1 Center.

Paul didn’t have one of his better shooting games against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night, going three-for-11 and finishing with just nine points in the 111-107 loss.

That was an uncharacteristic night for Paul. Even fans noticed him rubbing his shoulder during the game, many of them seeking answers on Twitter.

“I shot it bad the other night,” Paul said. “I’m all right. I promise. I appreciate your concern, but I’m OK.”

He was sitting next to Jasen Powell, the Clippers’ director of medical services and head athletic trainer, the two of them just talking before Paul was about to take the court for the team’s shootaround for the game against the Kings.

“I’ve got the best in the business right here,” Paul said, pointing to Powell. “Ain’t that right? I’m all right, though.”
