Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib shot himself in the leg during incident this summer, report says
Dallas police have determined Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib shot himself in the leg during an early-morning incident this summer, according to a report by WFAA-TV.
The Dallas Police Department has not confirmed the report, and Talib and the Broncos have not commented on it.
In an earlier police report, a witness said he was with Talib and a large group of people at a park that morning when one shot was fired and Talib ended up on the ground.
Talib said in that report he didn’t know who shot him.
Earlier that evening, Talib reportedly was at a strip club where two men were shot, although it is not known whether he was there at the time of the shootings.
The three-time Pro Bowler missed the Super Bowl champion Broncos’ visit to the White House because of the June 5 incident. The gunshot wound to Talib’s lower right leg didn’t require surgery, and he was released from the hospital the following day.
Talib has played in all four games for the undefeated Broncos this season and has three interceptions and one defensive touchdown. When asked about the incident, he has said, “I want to move on and concentrate on the season.”
