Adam Scott, Sergio Garcia are tied for lead at Honda Classic

Adam Scott hit two balls into the water on one hole, but he still shot a four-under-par 66 and managed to share the lead Saturday with Sergio Garcia after three rounds of the Honda Classic at Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

A bizarre, breezy afternoon at PGA National ended with Scott and Garcia (67) sharing a four-shot lead going into the final round. Garcia made birdie on the 18th hole to join Scott at nine-under 201.

Rickie Fowler didn’t make a birdie and fell five shots behind with a 74. Jimmy Walker had a strange start to his day when he was introduced as “Jimmy Fowler.” He shot 79 and was 11 behind.

“Pretty costly,” Scott said of his quadruple bogey on the par-three 15th hole. “But fortunately, I had a couple shots to spare. Hopefully, it won’t cost me too big in the grand scheme of things.”

Blayne Barber was alone at five under. Justin Thomas opened with three straight birdies and had to settle for a 68, putting him at four-under 206 with Fowler. Graeme McDowell had a 67 and was six shots behind at 207 along with Scott Brown and 53-year-old Vijay Singh.

What was reported as a mild heart attack for Jason Bohn turned out to be much more. The 42-year-old golfer had a stent inserted Saturday for what he says was 99% blockage of a major artery. In a text exchange with NBC, Bohn said the blockage was in his left anterior descending artery — known as the “widow maker” because it could lead to a major heart attack.

Thompson takes the lead at LPGA Thailand

Lexi Thompson shot an eight-under 64 in the third round of the LPGA Thailand to establish a four-stroke lead over Korean In Gee Chun at Siam Country Club in Chonburi.

The fourth-ranked American fired nine birdies — against a lone bogey on the 16th — for an overall 16-under 200. Thompson has won four out of the six times she has led after the third round.

Chun carded three birdies on both the front and back nine for a six-under 66. Overnight leader and defending champion Amy Yang (70) had five birdies and three bogeys. The South Korean is five shots off the lead.

Oosthuizen in command at Perth International

Former British Open winner Louis Oosthuizen shot a five-under 67 to take a three-stroke lead after three rounds of the Perth International.

Oosthuizen, making his first tournament appearance in Australia, had a 54-hole total of 15-under 201 on the Lake Karrinyup Country Club course.

American Peter Uihlein (71) and Romain Wattel of France (65) were tied for second, with Australia’s Jason Scrivener four strokes off the lead after a 69.

Shin has two-shot lead at Australian Ladies Masters

South Korea’s Jiyai Shin shot a two-under 71 for one of the few sub-par rounds of the day in post-cyclonic winds to take a two-stroke lead after three rounds of the Australian Ladies Masters.

Strong winds from last week’s Cyclone Winston in the South Pacific buffeted the Royal Pines course, and only nine of 75 players shot under-par rounds.

Shin had a 54-hole total of 10-under 209, two ahead of England’s Holly Clyburn, who was tied for the late lead before bogeying her final two holes for a 72.

Clyburn was tied for second with Camille Lennarth of Swden, who shot 75. Canadian Brooke Henderson, the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 11, had a 74 and was in fourth place, three strokes behind.
