I have never agreed with a top 10 list more. My goodness. Get out of my head, sir. I would consider a marriage proposal based off of this list alone. Damn. The only thing I would add to this list is the original Dr. Doolittle. I would go on and on about how I would raise my non-existent kids on classics like the Court Jester and most of the movies listed on the comments but by god, he nailed this list and any suggestion of mine would just be clutter. You sir, have one my internet respect. Carry on. [ 10 Geeky Movies to Raise Your Kids On ]

I'd agree on seven of them pretty solidly (though he didn't pick the best Potter movie for adults). I just rewatched Back to the Future,Wargames, and Star Wars in the last month. I have to admit that I haven't seen My Neighbor Tortoro, The Dark Crystal, or (gasp!) Goonies. Maybe that's the one flaw in me that I've been looking for all my life.

I'd have to add Dr Doolittle (in a blatant ass-kissing move), The Princess Bride, and a movie to be named later (thinking Raiders of the Lost Ark or Karate Kid) in their place unless convinced otherwise.

All marriage proposals will be considered.

The list needs to squeeze Explorers in there somewhere.

You forgot "Condorman" (1981) with Michael Crawford and Oilver Reed. My two sons (and their friends) couldn't get enough of the fabulous cartoonist who lived his super hero dreams in real life.

The 5 year old and I have started to go through all 6 Star Wars movies yet again. Just finished ep2 last night after which he declared that he was going to wake up early in the morning "to do some Jedi practice".

An uber-geek and proud of it, she established herself as an Internet presence with All Things Christie, a blog that managed, with its quirky and unabashedly self-indulgent links to and commentary on whatever struck her fancy or her ire, to attract small legions of readers, fans and would-be stalkers. Her interests were as they are: myriad and eclectic, though certainly given to a particular fondness for the tech-y, the game-y and the kitschy. She is her own organizing principle, a kind of mad surfer on the crests of cultural lunacy, alternately acerbic, ecstatic and unintentionally insightful. She has since blogged for VH1's "Best Week Ever" and Exhausticated.com, providing her usual melange of cheek, snark and occasional observation. Christie also contributes to LAT's Hero Complex blog.
