Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt wanted more kids ASAP; did in vitro for their twins
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wanted more kids fast.
With four kids already, they've set land speed records for enlarged family planning. And now we know how.
Us Weekly is reporting that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie conceived their twins, Knox and Vivienne, through the use of in vitro fertilization.
"They conceived through in vitro fertilization," a well-placed Pitt-Jolie source told Us.
"They both desperately wanted more babies soon."
The actress chose the procedure (which can cost around $12,000 a pop) so "she wouldn't have to deal with the stress of trying to get pregnant," the source told Us. "She could just knock it out."
Jolie has spoken openly about having more kids while she and Brad are young enough to cope with it.
"If we're going to have 10 kids, we'd like to raise them while we're young," the actress told British Elle last year.
Angie is only 33. But Brad turns 45 on Dec. 18.
Will there be more kids to come? What do you think?

RUBBISH!!! That's all I have to say about that. In vitro is the most painful and stressful thing a woman can do to her body and you don't get pregnant right away. There are pills and shots (directly into the abdoman and it HURTS) This story is total rubbish made up by people who know nothing about in vitro. Rubbish, I tell you!!!

Again, Rubbish.
Another "inside source" .
Just like the inside source claimed that she refused to visit an OBGYN in Monaco when he wasn't even her doctor? Oh and lets not forget the "inside source" who fooled ET into believing she gave birth in May.
Hollywood "inside sources" are fabrications of pseudo journalists who need something to sell their magazines and newspapers.
I honestly do not know how any celeb survives you people!

In vitro should be for people who need it to have children, not for people who just can't be bothered with waiting to get pregnant. It's ridiculous.

It's kind of obvious she had IVF because the twins are fraternal.

I doubt this particular "source" (if there even is one) has any real inside knowledge, however, with this Hollywood-gotta-have-it-my-way-NOW duo, it seems the likeliest scenario. Did anyone believe for a minute, these twins were going to be identical?
Posted by: nd | July 24, 2008 at 08:27 PM
fraternal twins have existed long before IVF! it's true that IVF can only create fraternal twins (and not identical ones) but this doesn't mean that all fraternal twins are obtained through IVF!!! she was young enough to conceive naturally but may have taken meds to increase the likelihood of multiple eggs being available at one time for fertilization...IVF is the last resort, there are much less invasive techniques that couples have access to before they need that.

Just because the twins are fraternal doesn't mean by any means it's IVF. Angelina has twins in her family and Pitt's sister has twins. As other people said, you just can't walk into a MD's office and demand twins. The whole story doesn't even make sense. Anyone who's dealt with infertility knows how bogus this story is

World overpopulation? Guess it doesn't count when they are RICH kids!
Posted by: tomk | July 24, 2008 at 08:48 PM
Right?, I'm not sure you have your facts straight: my niece and nephew are fraternal and were conceived the good ol' fashioned way. Just because twins are fraternal doesn't mean they are conceived via IVF.

LOL!!! She didn't have IVF treatments.
1.) She's young.
2.) She's obviously fertile since she conceived Shiloh practically on their first try.
3.) She started working on The Changeling in October '07.
4.) US Weekly didn't get the first baby pics. Nice way to get even.

duhhh, people have been having fratenal twins long before IVF became available. Angelina isn't the first nor will she be the last.
Its very obvious that those who believe Angelina would be allowed to do IVF by her doctor or fertility clinic think that doctors will do anything for money. Never mind that it would be completely INETHICAL for any doctor to recommend IVF which is a painful and invasive and time consuming process with unknown long term health risks to a young woman who has had no trouble conceiving shiloh and whose mother just died of ovarian cancer.
I just hope no one here encounters one of these inethical doctors. You can kiss good bye to your health.

The reason they used in vitro is because she had to. Clearly from photos before her pregnancy she was anorexic. When someone is anorexic they do not menstruate and as a result cannot become pregnant. It is clear the reason they used in vitro was due to her anorecia

you say angie is anorexic and yet the doctor would agree to do IVF. That is not being consistent. If you say she is anorexic

i thinks shes great! it gives women hope. like me. i always wanted twins, and i tried alsorts of things, this really helps with the confidence.

Um, it's UN-ethical, not IN-ethical.

I think it's hilarious that a million people have several ideas on how angelina and brad should live their lives or how many kids they should have. Children are a blessing whether it by birth or adoption. The bottom line is they can afford it and i don't have to take care of them. 1 more word of advice, proofread people.

Oh Come ON!!! Surely they had invitro!! With 4 kids, who has time for sex?!?!?!? Anyway, he is worth all of the hooplah, but to me Angelina is WHITE TRASH with MONEY!!!!!

Okay really can the media just give them a break. Really the papparazzi is literaly breaking onto their grounds for a few shoots of their kids and invading their privacy. They will release photos when their ready. Let the new parents enjoy the kids.

AND SO NOW WE KNOW, OR THINK WE KNOW, OR MIGHT KNOW, OR -- OH, WHO CARES? -- SOMEONE IS SAYING OFF-THE-RECORD THAT new celebrity angels Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt are the miraculous result of an Immaculate Conception.
Although the shortcut to twins sounds creepy, who could blame Ang? With her soon approaching her woman's sexual peak, she might have another seven years of youthful beauty left before she's reduced to vetting offers for movies like "Momma Mia!" . (And that is not an insult; Crabby adores Meryl Streep, who as far as she can remember never once shuffled her children in front of paparazzi to sell a movie.)
Why bother, if you're a celebrity, worrying about procreation cutting into potentially profitable years? Who wants to carry the extra weight around? By conceiving in a petri dish, Ang saves herself a full year of profits, which are estimated by Forbes to about $14 million annually. Well worth the investment of a $12,000 lab procedure, don't cha think?

First off....when I saw the the Magazine cover I was LIVID! It is no ones business HOW the two precious angels were conceived. I have fraternal twins that were conceived via IVF and it is stories/people (US mag) that makes me question whether or not to even tell them. Articles like this only make it seem like they are not "normal" since they were conceived via IVF when in fact they were conceived with just as much love if not more because of the MANY medical procedures and stress it takes on the parents who WISH to conceive. The IDIOT who refers to IVF as a "petri dish" conception....you REALLY need to watch what you say. It can be VERY offensive to people. For some a "$12,000 lab procedure" is there only hope to conceive a child. Some people have medical conditions that can make them incapable of having a child the "normal" way. You should be very ashamed. I hope that when and if you do ever decide to have a child you do not have to make sacrafices...or someone from your own family or close freind...you won't have many close friends saying those types of words around them....

I know nothing about IVF and pregnancies, and certainly not about twins...but when I saw her Wanted, she was bone thin and has no butt whatsoever. I just wonder what sexual potent she uses to keep Brad.
Posted by: Chicago48 | July 27, 2008 at 06:24 PM
Those of you who talk a load of rubbish about how thin she was. I honestly think you have no brains whatsoever. I have los my mother and my father. And you dont feel like eating. And when you have a family and you are working too, to try and dull the pain of grief, its hard to maintain your eating habits. As for Brad fancying her. oh come on you blind idiot! she is and always was extremely beautiful. As for IVF. I have had several attempts at IVF as I am unable to have children, and I still do not slate anyone who decides to go for it. I have my own theory as to why she decided on IVF, because HER MOTHER DIED YOUNG OF OVARIAN CANCER. And so Im sure that Angie, was worried that she might have inherited something liike that and wanted to have her children while she can. Whatever her reasons and Brads reasons are. Im so pig sick of people slating this amazing couple. Who are so humane. And give away so much of their money. You ignorant fools! get your facts straight. stop judging people. unless you want to be judged yourself. Get a life. And leave this peaceful. beautiful, loving, humane couple alone. To bring up their family. Go away and live your own life. If your heart was just one ounce as good as theirs, you would be a better person.
