I just wanted to say to the people who are critizicing her. I'm 20 years old, I had a daughter right before I turned 18, i've graduated high school and am going to college. Babies don't make you ruin your life, if anything they make you better it where you can.

Yes, 17 is young to have a child, but have you all been living under rocks? Do you not realize how many kids are having kids that are even younger than 17? The only reason anyone is concerned about her having a baby at 17 is because she is in the spotlight. Everyone makes mistakes. At least she's being responsible about it. I have no right to be critical of anyone, I had a child out of wedlock and at the age of 19, and her mom was 17. the one thing I can say is having done that , it is no piece of cake to raise a child. not to mention the fact that when you are doing it at such an age and not married, it can only turn out bad for the child. Now who is to say that they will not make it, but looking at the percentages of divorce, which is over the 50% mark, chances are that even if they do wed, they will not last. I can only send my best wishes and my prayers to this family and hope it turns out for the good. Also, congrats, kids are awesome!!!

I don't think it is bad to have a baby @ such a young age as long as the parents are prepared & bringing the baby into a STABLE enviro. It is important however that the parents are married & because it is proven that children are not finished developing a marriage would not most likely not last long @ such a young age. So it is therefore hard to be prepared to be a parent as a teeneager.

Now to all use out there that are slating them, shut the **** up! My mum had me when she 16 yrs and she went on to have 3 more kids. Now she is in very successful job. Im 19 and I have a 13 month old son who I love very, and I have just finished a course to become a classroom assistant and plan to go and my training to be teacher. So don't be going around and saying that having a baby young means that you completly ruined your life, if anything it makes it so much more speacial.

Okay, first of all i say to all of you out there, judging jamie, one: i'm quite sure that she had not gotten pregnant deliberately, and most likely she wasn't even aware that this was going to be the outcome of her actions, and two: she took good care of the situation as any mature person would. She has gone to college, and she has an acting career that can support this child.

Ok... I just think this whole thing was amazing... I don't believe that Jamie should be critizcized for having a baby at 17. My husband and I have been married for 1 year, together for 4 years total. He was 17 when we had our first daughter and still in high school. Now he is 20, I am 22 and we are expecting our second. Age is just a number and there are plenty of options for young mothers who get pregnant. Fact is she took responsibility and did not have an abortion. I give her kudos for doing the right thing. Just because she got pregnant so young does not mean she is a slut. It means she is a normal 17 year old girl who gave into temptation and just happened to end up being pregnant because of it. I am 17 years old and just graduated high school. Me and my boyfriend have been together close to two years now. He is currently at basic training to join the US Navy. I just found out i am pregnant. I am in no way a slut or whore or close to stupid. THings happen for a reason. God creates life, so therefore god is in control of who gets pregnant and who doesnt. Yes because she and i are young it will teach us to grow up faster. But as long as the baby is taken care of who cares is she is 17 or 47?

hi im 20 just as of the other day ...i have a 9 month old daughter and i got pregnant when i was 18 ...i didnt want to get pregnant them but stuff happens..im glad the jamie-lynn had a beautiful little girl ,and i think she will do an awesome job raising her too , it doesnt matter what other people think about you , just think about urself and that little one that you carried for 9 moonths in side of you and now its out

And she is not a hoe!She did the right thing, and she took the appropriate measures to ensure a safe delivery.I watch that new show on ABCFamily, Secret Life of the American Teenager, and what happens on that show is what most girls do if they find out they're pregnant. But Jamie Lynn told her mom, went to the doctor, and did everything she was supposed to do.Leave her alone.And she isn't a girl anymore.She's a woman, so treat her like one.

Maybe Jamie Lynn didn't use her discretion when she had unprotected sex. But at least she didn't do what most pregnant 16 year olds do/would do, which is get an abortion. She had her baby, and she is a great mother. Of course she shouldn't have gotten pregnant. She's 16. But she handeled it with an amazing amount of maturity. I don't know what I'd do if I found out I was pregnant. Granted, I am 13. But it's not like 13 year olds don't get pregnant. A girl in my class, who is my age, recently became pregnant. When it comes to teen pregnancy, we just need to suck it up and deal with the problem(s) ahead and be as supportive as possible for the soon to be mother. Teens, or at least most teens, do not want to be a mother or father, but if you are willing to risk it by having unprotected sex, fine. But be prepared to be responsible for another human being for 18 years. Being a parent is a tough job. But Jamie Lynn seems to be doing very well. Although she tells people that her baby is always quiet, and is the perfect baby, most people are not that lucky. Most newborn children are restless at night. Be ready to handle such a great responsibility.
