Who was the best loser at the Governors Ball?

Beigb0224081352

They should nominate George Clooney for an Oscar every year.

He's such a great loser!

On the red carpet, a straight-faced Clooney joked that the only nominee he wouldn't mind losing to would be Marion Cotillard.

But at the Governors Ball, he sure didn't act ticked off that Daniel Day-Lewis had stolen his Oscar!

Beigb0224081386_2He spent time with his O-winning pals the Coen brothers. He bear-hugged supporting actor winner Javier Bardem,  laughed with supporting actress nominee Laura Linney and gave a pep talk/congrats to the still overwhelmed "Once" original song Oscar winners (for "Falling Slowly"), Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova.

Afterward, I asked Marketa how her return-to-the-stage moment happened. "I don't know," she said. "They just said they were sorry to cut me off and that they wanted me to go back out there. So I did."

And in doing so, she created one of the evening's most touching and honest moments.

Elsewhere at the bash, another touching moment occurred when two other nominees, "Lord of the Rings" costars Cate Blanchett and Viggo Mortensen, were at a table reminiscing.

At one point, Viggo gallantly removed the colorful scarf he was wearing around his shoulders and wrapped it around Cate's baby belly like an apron.

O-kay.

According to reader Denise's comment:  "The "colorful scarf" Viggo has is the flag of a soccer club in Argentina he is a huge fan of. He lived in Argentina til he was 12 years old and goes there regularly. He speaks Spanish like a native."

Thanks for the cool Inside Viggo news!

What lovely news! They are all having so much fun I feel as I I were there too!

The flag across Cate Blanchett's babybelly is for San Lorenzo, an Argentinian Football (soccer) team.
